Cable-driven heavy debris removal for deep wells and space-constrained intake structures
The Cable Operated Bar Screen is designed for pumping stations, intake wells, and wet wells where space constraints or deep channel conditions make conventional chain-driven screens impractical. A strong steel cable mechanism raises and lowers a rake assembly that cleans the bar screen face, removing accumulated debris effectively even in confined, difficult-to-access locations.

How It Works

The rake travels vertically along the bar screen, driven by a motorized cable winch or manual crank. As the rake descends, it passes through the screen bars and captures debris on the upstroke, depositing it into a collection basket or chute at the top of the channel.

Technical Specifications
  • Drive: Steel cable with motorized winch or manual handwheel
  • Installation: Vertical or slightly inclined
  • Suitable channel depth: 1m – 8m+
  • Bar spacing: 20mm – 100mm
  • Operation: Manual or automatic (timed / level-triggered)
  • Material: SS 304 or MS with protective coating
Key Benefits
  • Compact mechanism — fits where chain-driven systems cannot
  • Effective in very deep channels without complex engineering
  • Manual backup option ensures operation during power cuts
  • Easy installation in existing pump sumps or wet wells
  • Low capital cost solution for smaller intake applications

Applications
  • Pumping stations and lift stations
  • Raw water intake wet wells
  • Drainage control structures
  • Older plant retrofits with space constraints
