The Catenary Bar Screen is purpose-built for large-scale water intake and wastewater inlet structures where heavy, bulky debris must be reliably separated. Unlike conventional bar screens supported by a rigid frame, the catenary design uses a continuous endless chain that naturally sags between its upper and lower sprockets — forming a catenary curve that follows the screen bars closely and efficiently clears accumulated solids.

How It Works

The endless chain carries a series of raking elements that travel along the bar screen surface. The natural catenary sag keeps the rakes in firm contact with screen bars across the full channel width, even in wide installations. Debris is carried to the top and discharged automatically.
